Thomas Chanyungco's Year End Blog June 4th, 2014
During this year in Active learning, I continued to have excellent attendance and great punctuality.
I always came on time to class and never missed any classes.
I always came prepared with P.E strip and never forgot it.
I showed great leadership by encouraging others to do their best by cheering them on during fitness and by encouraging others to take risks by pushing themselves forward.
I like to encourage others and be encouraged to do my best.
I cooperate well with others and encourage them to participate in class activities.
I have developed my skills at the beep test and badminton. I started the beep test with a score of level 10.8, but now my most recent level is 10.9.
I go to tae kwon do three times a week at Chang's Tae Kwon Do and I was on the badminton team. On the badminton team, I played doubles along side another student and I was doing very well at it. I try to eat healthy, lean meats, a couple of fruits and vegetables each day, and try to drink water throughout the day. I am working on better sleeping habits as part of a healthier lifestyle.
I like other racquet sports besides badminton and also enjoy going to the weight room.
For next year, I would like to improve my badminton skills and be on the badminton team again. I would also like to improve on my leadership skills. I am going to actively participate in class and work hard.
From what I said in my blog, I deserve a "G" and a letter grade "A" for my Final report.

Thomas chanyungco's interm report and work habits 2014, March 5th
During this semester, I had excellent attendance and great punctuality.
I always came on time to class and never missed any classes.
I always come prepared with P.E strip and never forgot it.
I show great leadership by encouraging others to do their best by cheering them on during fitness and by encouraging others to take risks by pushing themselves forward.
I like to encourage others and be encouraged to do my best.

I go to tae kwon do three times a week at Chang's Tae Kwon Do and I am on the badminton team. On the badminton team, I play doubles along side another student and I am doing very well at it. The most recent game I played was at Panorama Ridge and overall, our team won.
I try to eat healthy, lean meats, a couple of fruits and vegetables each day, and try to drink water throughout the day.
I like racquet sports like badminton and also enjoy going to the weight room. I would like to do more of these activities.
Sometimes when I have a lot of homework or when I am with my family/friends I have less time and energy to do physical activity.
I'd like to improve my badminton skills to be a better player on the team and to help other people be successful in accomplishing their goals. I would also like to improve on my leadership skills. I am going to actively participate in class and work to improve my skills.

Thomas Chanyungco Semester-End Blogpost and Formal Assessment 2014
Active Learning continues to be important to me because health and fitness are an important part of my life. Because Active Learning is important, I have a good attendance record, and I always come to class on time and prepared to learn. Something new I learned in Active Learning is to be more open-minded about trying new things, which I learned since last P.E class. Over the past years, I have been doing better on the beep test. Way before when I was in Grade 8, I couldn't even make it pass level 8. Now in Grade 9, I decided to push myself a little bit harder and the result was I got a score as high as 10.8 which was a big improvement for me. During fitness, I am doing better to try my best whether if it's doing a variety of different exercises or running laps either around the gym or outside. I am also improving on playing games with the whole class like blind volley ball or playing sports like speedminton. I have improved on playing these games by trying my best to actually play the game and to try to cooperate better with my team. On choice days, I'm usually in the weight room either lifting weights or using the equipment to help me with my workout. I always remain on task and not slacking off. I have been reading blogs from 5 students in our class. One of the ones I liked was Mickey's. I liked Mickey's blog because he thinks leadership is important in Active Learning and he is taking steps to develop his leadership skills by volunteering. Even when I am not doing Active Learning I am usually doing tae kwon do 3 times a week. Right now in Active Learning, I am working on my goal of improving the class's social dynamic by complimenting people when they do something well and encouraging others to do well, and also to be a positive role model to the class. From what I explained above, I deserve a work habit of "G" and a letter grade of "A".

Thomas Chanyungco's Active Learning Blog 2014
Active Learning is important to me because health and fitness are an important part of my life. Because Active Learning class is important to me, I always come to class on time and prepared to learn. In addition to getting fit at Active Learning at school, I also go to tae kwon do 3 times a week. As part of Active Learning, I try to be more healthy by eating lean meat, fruits and vegetables every day.
The parts of Active Learning class that I like are running, net sports and the weight room. One net sport that I would like to play of is badminton. Badminton is a fast paced sport that I enjoyed since I was a kid. So far this year, the skill I have improved the most on is my speed on the beep test.
My goals in Active Learning that I want to improve on are trying to be a better contributor to the class's social dynamic. Some ways that I can do this are complimenting people when they do something well and encouragin others to do better or to try to help them when they don't do something well.
I think that my work habit should be a "G" because as I explained above, I have a positive commitment to Active Learning and also to a healthy life style.

Attendance, Punctuality, Readiness to Participate
I had excellence attendance all year. I missed very few classes and when I did miss class it was because I had to attend a family gathering. I always arrived on time. I always came prepared with my gym strip. I always got changed quickly and went to the gym quickly and ready to go.
My Fitness Level
I feel that my fitness level has improved over the course of the year. I go hard at all activities, especially on fitness days. The variety of fitness exercises and running have made me feel stronger. I'm not really sure, but I think that my community run time has gotten faster. I have fitness activities after school. I have tae kwon do instruction 2 nights per week and rolling class one night per week.
What it means to be physically educated

I bring a positive attitude to the class every day. I join in all activities and try my best to do them well. I encourage my classmates to try hard. When we did the city hall hill run, I tried to encourage others to keep going. This is an area that I think I've improved. I'm a quiet person so it's hard for me to be encouraging. But I've been trying to improve on this over the year.

It is important to me to physically fit so that I can live a healthy life in school and after I graduate. I have to be physically educated to learn how to be physically fit.
Healthy, Active Lifestyle
Active learning is part of my commitment to a healthy lifestyle. I try to eat healthy foods as recommended by Canada's Food Guide. Now that I'm taking Foods this year, I'm learning more about nutrition. I know that getting a good night's sleep is important to a healthy lifestyle. I don't always get a good sleep because I get busy doing things and I am trying to improve this.
Suggested grade that attempts to reflect my learning / performance / understandings / contributions
I think that I deserve an "A" in Active Learning from what explained. I had excellence attendance and punctuality. I tried my best. I try to improve myself and I had fun in the end.

thomas' work habits
My work habits in active learning are best described as an average good perserverance. In this case, I deserve a 'G' because I always come prepared for active learning with a positive attitude and that I try to do my best effort on every active learning day.
